As the third-largest producer of cocoa in the world, Indonesia is expected to be able to respond to increasing global demand. However, traditional methods of production, land management, and processing are considered as obstacles. On the other hand, regulations have been enabling the establishment of new cocoa processing companies locally so that it is expected to increase the productivity and income of farmers in particular.
PRISMA collaborates with partners and related market players to increase the productivity and income of farmers through a variety of good agricultural governance practices ranging from procurement of high-quality agricultural inputs, care, crop protection, land management to broader processing and services related to cocoa products.
With the various innovations offered by PRISMA and its partners, by the end of 2018, a total of 298 small agricultural households in the cocoa sector had increased productivity and income, especially in the province of Papua.
PRISMA does not continue to work in this sector, based on the results of the analysis of achievements in every semester.
