Indonesia is the largest coconut producer in the world with an annual domestic production of 18.98 million tons, which is approximately 30 percent of the world’s total production in 2018. There is a myriad of opportunities to increase the productivity and income of coconut farmers.
PRISMA worked with partners to increase farmers' income by encouraging farmers to produce high-quality coconut derivatives. In the first phase, PRISMA focused on coconut oil production, while in the second phase the focus was on improving the income of coconut sugar farmers by promoting high-quality coconut varieties and good agricultural practices.
RISMA does not continue to work in this sector, based on the analysis results of sector's performance and achievement.
