Maize is one of the leading crops in Indonesia. Its annual production reaches more than 30 million tons derived from around 5.7 million hectares of land (Agricultural Statistics, 2018)

PRISMA works with partners to improve the availability of high-quality hybrid seeds (and agricultural inputs), as well as promote good agricultural practices, access to finance and irrigation. These are some of the main factors of low maize productivity in Indonesia.

In December 2018, the maize sector became the second-highest of PRISMA achievement’s contributor. This sector continues to be one of the leading sectors in the second phase.
