Maize is one of Indonesia’s major crops, with more than 30 million tons of maize produced annually on approximately 5.7 million hectares of land (Agricultural Statistics, 2018).

PRISMA works with private and public partners to improve the availability and accessibility of high-quality seeds (hybrid and composite varieties) and to promote good agricultural practices and access to other agriculture inputs and services (e.g. finance).

The maize sector provided the second-highest contribution in terms of PRISMA’s achievements in December 2018. Maize continues to be one of the leading sectors in the second phase of the program.
